Salman Masood is based in Islamabad, Pakistan. He primarily writes for The New York Times and has covered the country since 2003, focusing on politics and terrorism. In 2009, he contributed to The New York Times reporting team that won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for coverage of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Locally, since 2014, he is the Resident Editor Islamabad & Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for The Nation newspaper. In 2013-2014, he acted as the Editor of PIQUE, a political and lifestyle magazine. Salman Masood wrote for Abu Dhabi based The National from 2008-2011. His writings have also appeared in Jane’s Terrorism & Insurgency Monitor and The Guardian. His op-ed articles have appeared in The News and The Express Tribune. Salman Masood holds a Masters degree in International Relations.
